Journey into the heart of the wetlands with a cruise on the mighty Mary River. This is an excellent opportunity to observe crocodiles, wetland birds and marvel at the majestic views across the vast Mary River floodplain. Drift down this expansive river system and take shelter in one of the billabongs to quietly observe or photograph nature at its very best.

Heading this tour is your experienced Wildman Wilderness Lodge guide, who will provide fascinating insights into the flora and fauna of the region. You will come away from this cruise with a new appreciation for the many animals that share these waterways and a series of photos that will always remind you of the beauty of Mother Nature. 

This tour is a self-drive option. Simply drive your car to the Rockhole, park and meet us at near the boat docking area close to the Rotunda. Your boat is called the Mary River Princess.

Getting There
The Rockhole is located 150km east of Darwin. Follow the Arnhem Highway, down Point Stuart Road and you will see the sign 'Rockhole'. 

The Arnhem Highway is a fully sealed road. At the turnoff, you will drive down a graded dirt road for about 15 minutes. This should be acceptable for more hire car companies as it is graded and well maintained. 

At the Rockhole, there is plenty of FREE public parking and toilet facilities. 

Times
Schedule times include 9.30am and 4.30pm departing from the Rockhole. 

Look for your guide near the boat docking area close to the Rotunda. He will be wearing a Wildman Wilderness Lodge shirt.

 

Accessibility 
In the dry season (May to
September) most areas are
accessible to all vehicles, however,
many roads are unsealed.  There is an alternate 4WD track that will take you to the Rockhole, however, you need to check with the Ranger station before attempting this track as it is not open all year.

 This tour is open to both in-house guests and visitors.
